Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'll play, deb.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Jo had no teeth - that would be zero, zip, nada, zilch, rien - until she was 14 months old.

And I had to have the little shark baby. Gah.

too many baby foods had allergens in them, not her allergies, MY allergies.

deb, my good friend here has an 11 month old son who's allergic to milk. Not lactose intolerant, really allergic. And they put whey in every freakin' processed food on the shelves today. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that. But I can see a tiny glimpse of what you and Deena (with the gluten) have to deal with and it's just a huge pain in the ass.

We have no allergies at all (thank goodness) but I'm not taking any chances with the riskier items. Things like nuts, strawberries, egg whites, shell fish and honey are off the menu until Owen is past one. Two for shell fish, just in case.

But you're right. Really resilient. Not all as fab as your gorgeous girl, though. Sir Paul would make me jelly-kneed.

I never got the Paul love. I was always a George fancier. I totally envy deb the hair brushing.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

We're also holding off on egg whites until one, and may make it two on nuts. And she'll have chocolate for the first time in her first birthday cake.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Sail, starting a table.

Cashmere, it was really spooky. No teeth no teeth no teeth. I kept peering, she kept politely letting me. I made an appointment with her ped in London - what the hell no damned teeth? - and the night before, my mellow lamb was cranky and throwing 'tude. Next morning? She had a mouthful of teeth, in both jaws, something like eight or nine, IIRC. They all came in together.

In regards to Sir Paul, I've been preening over Jo and my genetic connection since yesterday. I got to brush George Harrison's hair without realising, and when he turned around and called me "luv", I turned into a Warner Brothers cartoon. So nice to know that, while neither of us can be rattled by a mere celebrity, an Icon is a different thing and we both went fangirl.

Of course, George was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sexy.

All is well that ends in pizza.

First day of training done. I slept too little last night.

Also? Brother I used to borrow money to now hesitates borrowing to me because I haven't kicked out our cousin. Wonderful.

I have a friend from Maine who is allergic to shellfish. It's very sad, poor lobster-loving girl.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My sister was really sensitive to citrus as a baby. She'd even get a rash from something with citric acid.

Sail, I'm in Vernacular, Table 22.

The only allergy Jo had as a baby nearly killed her, and it was apparently inherited. She was virulently allergic to insect venom, especially mosquito venom.
