What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Europeans don't heat their houses nearly as much, either. They think American houses are insanely overheated.

I believe it. My winter in England was actually one of the warmest I'd experienced since leaving Alabama--outside. Inside, the way my hostess kept the thermostat, I regularly slept under three blankets and wore a fleece-lined jacket over a sweater and turtleneck.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do enjoy the Bon Jovi, but that is part of the small sample of the guitar music I like, due to the Top 40 nature of it all. Did your Metallica song make the Top 40??

Euros aren't as neurotic? I'd have no problems with uncooled eggs, but I know I have an iron (to natural poisons, not natural goo) stomach. I'm not freaky about food poisoning. But I've never had it even as those around me are puking their guts out and turning blue.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, "Sad But True" made it to #98 for a week.

No fucking idea why I've heard it, but it's evidently not MY FAULT it didn't go higher.

ita, you make me laugh.

There's no way for me to tell if I know that song, because my brain is currently filled with the subway busker guy's not-very-good version of Three Little Birds, and it won't go away!

I like summer. Summer, summer, summer. No spring, no fall, no winter except in pictures.

Xactly! My only change would be you DRIVE to winter. Go skiing. Oogle the mountain lions. Drive home to NO SNOW OR FRIGID COLD.

I'd totally be happy with 365 of summer. Sure, I thought spring in NC (FLOWERS! Dogwood! Azalea!) was gorgeous, but... I can DRIVE to it, right?

No, no, no, silly. 365 of autumn. Crisp days, leaves changing color, and the perfect weather for velvet skirts and jackets. Plus, always Halloween!

FREAK! Jilli is a freak! Autumn? Are you nuts? I need HEAT! Unwilling bake!
