Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Things I don't understand:

- Why the phone only rings as soon as I get online, making it appear that I am always online. Okay, maybe I am always online.
- What is wrong with my thrice damnable budget numbers that mean that sheet A does not match up with sheet B despite having been entered directly from the data in sheet B.
- Why you are getting snow and I am not.

Things I don't understand:

  • Paris Hilton (subtracting the Richest Trainwreck on Earth factor)
  • People who think it's OK to pick on other people's diets
  • Non-dairy creamers

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't understand why teleportation has not been invented yet.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So while it is nice to speak to a human, and I understand that people's reaction is annoying, I tend to give the person I'm calling more information via voicemail.

I totally agree. Perhaps it means I leave bad voicemails, but they are very different from any message that goes through a third party.

I confess that I go into Dr. McCoy mode when that idea crosses my mind. If you disassemble me to the subatomic level, I'm dead.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, and I don't understand why people so often on the phone think I am voicemail. Not that I'm going to transfer them to voicemail, but that I myself am a recorded voice.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, the replicators are well on their way, dunno why not for teleporters.

If you disassemble me to the subatomic level, I'm dead.

Only for a little while. But heh, yes, I understand the trepidation.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't understand why teleportation has not been invented yet.

I'm not too eager for this. The absence of time lag in sending stuff would lead to my clients expecting finished work as soon as they're done giving me instructions, since of course actually doing work shouldn't take any longer than getting it from place to place.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you disassemble me to the subatomic level, I'm dead.

And then you get recreated. But is it the same you, or a different but identical you to the you that's dead?

Also, if teleporters exist, why can't they be used to create endless copies of you?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe they'll come up with a teleportation that only works on living beings.

No, but then they'd be naked, or something.
