Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Lee, I could find nothing to back up the rumour...

It is raining. Which puts quite the blanket on easy stuff to do in LA with parents.

I suspect it's going to end up a lot higher than that. The Krakatoa tsunami killed over 30,000 people on Java alone, and Indonesia was much less populated back in the 1880s.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay, ita, on the rumour, but boo on the LA stuff to do. Maybe a musuem?

I'm off to brave the storm. I hope all the sirens I have been hearing aren't for things between here and work.

I battle also their lack of suggestions. It's like being in a library, where a patron says "I like books -- can you help me?" and knowing that you will hear it for years if you pick the wrong book.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy Birthday Emily!!!

Hmm..... I'm trying to think of fun rainy weather LA stuff.

If it weren't raining, I'd say Huntington Gardens because they are lovely but also for the Gutenberg Bible. But in rain? Nah.

So many of the cool things to do in LA are outside. I guess because we generally have grindingly good weather.

Howabout out for breakfast then lazing around and then a movie?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

How about the Peterson Car Museum? The history of LA in cars, plus lots of gorgeous machines to ogle.

I do like the Peterson!

Too bad your parents aren't into the creepy plasticized people because that would be a good indoor activity for the day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EM!!!!!

I heard the thunder this morning, too. I was still in bed, and my first thought was -- Was that thunder, or an explosion? I should get up and check the news.

I got up and turned on the news, and they were talking about sports, so I figured it wasn't an explosion.
