Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Ooh, so exciting, Lee! Good night!

Sure. Everbody goes to bed, right when I am about to announce that I am coming back to the U-S 'o-freakin'- A, the day after tomorrow.

Savin, the stodgy pharmaceutical company I have been slaving in Switzerland for, have agreed to go tele-remote for the rest of my involvement with the project. Booyah.

Switzerland has been great, but I miss the house where I made all my parenting mistakes.

Some people are, like, at work and stuff, Mr "I'm going back to the majority's timezone". Um, which is a strange way to spell "congrats, Gus!". It's good that you're going to be back at the place you missed.

Nilly!

Sorry, gal, the nightshift will soon be all yours again. I wil not be in the "majority timezone", however. I'll be in the CT zone, two hours removed from the you-can't-smoke-in- here -the-smell-ruins-the-taste-of-my-guacamole-martini timezone.

Mmmmm..guacamole martini.

It's the timezone in which now is the nightshift. 3 hours here or there are negligible, as the physicists would say.

However, I'm so little here these days (see ND's longings for a real night shift lately), that it can't even be considered mine anymore. Oh, well. As long as you're happy to be going home.

Ah, yes, Wisconsin! If you were to walk into a bar and order a guacamole martini there, the barkeep would engage you in a long converstion about the Packers football team, while one of the other patrons hussled off to summon an exorcist.

Yeah, we seem to have lost most of the late night crew. BT is back in Australia but other other Australians don't come around any more and there aren't as many folks who haunt the electronic halls quite like I do anymore.

move out and draw fire

I'd be here a lot more except for not having internet access. Basically I can only post when I concentrate really really hard. It helps to have some kind of focus item, like a computer or a Buffy DVD or something, but mainly it's just pure willpower to protect my virtual self into the net.

But yay Gus for being homeward bound! I ran into a tourist group from Wisconsin last week - they were wearing shorts, which was really bothering the Greeks ("But it's winter! Aren't you cold?!").

Burrell, would taking a lukewarm bath help? I've hit the point where it's just not possible for me to get enough sleep at night

Wrod. I've taken to sleeping in the tub or in the papasan. The tub is a little better because a) buoyancy and b) no cat, but I worry about sliding under the water. Which I shouldn't, because I'm pretty well wedged in there. But I do recommend at least a lukewarm soak to help with the sleeping.
