Actually, my book says I need an H, not a G. I think I am going to buy myself a very pretty H as a reward. For something. I'm sure there's something I did that deserves rewarding.

Not really. It's got the correct aspect ratio in it for whatever the film is shooting. So you can hold it up to your eye and see how the shot will be framed once it's in widescreen or whichever format you are shooting.

Could be the camera assistant. Could be a P.A. on the camera crew. Could still be a dolly grip. Depends on the size of the shoot. Very often there is the DP and then a first and second assisant camera on the crew.
Betsy, if you don't have a G and you need one, let me know. I'm pretty sure I have one or two extras. Of course, it will take a little time for the mail, and they're pretty cheap, so you may prefer to purchase.
