I couldn't believe it the first twenty times you told us, but it's starting to sink in now.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I should go grocery shopping, and maybe to the bookstore, since I have no food and nothing to read. But it's cold outside, and I don't feel like getting dressed.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Stay home, you never know when the weather could take another nasty turn.

An excellent point! I know I can always count on Buffistas to bolster any self-justification I've got going on.

Allyson, I feel silly wishing you good luck, because you're so amazingly accomplished with organizing fan events that you hardly need it, but I'll send you the good luck anyway.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Awwwww!!! That's such a nice thing to say. I feel a thousand times better with Kristen on board, and so many good folk jumping up to say they'll help out.

The producers have been more helpful than the Buffy/Angel producers, which I thought was impossible because they were so uber-supportive.

When we were scrambling about finding a new date because ABC ordered another episode, they called Hawaii for us to help us pinpoint a date where we'd be able to catch the actors coming back from the sets.

I was all, "you can't really help because ABC might get miffed" to one of the assistants. She said, "I'm not helping as an employee, I'm a fan too, so whatever you need, call me."

And then the charity was just so excited. "What do you need us to do?"

I told them I just need them to show up and accept the money, then receipt people.

Silence.

"THANK YOU!!!"

So it's been encouraging all the way through. I'm just concerned about getting enough signups, because it's such a new fandom, and really, I think people don't pay 2k (flight, hotel, food, ticket, auction, fancy frocks) to fly out to meet a couple of actors and producers, they do that because they want to spend time with each other, too.

I'm not sure if that kind of bonding has happened in the fandom, yet.

Oh! And from all accounts, Maya did a great job in Tampa. Suz Brockmann was happy, the fans were thrilled, and they raised 3k for breast cancer research.

Wow, that's great!

Ditto. At least I have plans to go to the movies later, and I can get groceries on the way home from that.

Allyson, that sounds awesome. But not as awesome as your hair.

Swouncing

Allyson, yay on the former event being so great, yay on people being helpful and, well, all-around nice, on the event ahead, and yay you for making these things happen.

And with that, I should really go home. Night, everybody! Good rest-of-Monday to all.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I got my iBook 'repaired' at the Apple Store. The repair turned out to be that the Apple Extreme Card wasn't fully plugged into the interior antenna. Which to be fair to me, I'd checked several times, it looked connected and all. I think I managed not to blush.

On the plus side, the "repair" cost me $0.00 and now I can surf from my loungey chair in the living room.

Jesse, I thought to ask you, the charity said that they'd help with a joint press release and send a notice out to its members about the party, which I think is asking them too much, though I could be on crack. It's not too much, you think? I hope?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm not sure if that kind of bonding has happened in the fandom, yet.

You might get a confluence of Mutant Enemy writer fans, and Alias fans, etc. that are familiar with and want to see each other.

As for decor, just think about all the prosthetically enhanced people you won't have to make arrangements for this time around.
