Mmm. Now I want frozen pizza.
Maybe I should skip this thread for awhile. I don't feel like spending money on food, and I don't feel like making any, either. And you guys are making me really hungry.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I am making hot water for ze pasta now. I just realized how very, very starved I am.
flaunty? nah. that's a recipe form Silver Palate that I like.
I was just drawn in by the rhyme. I am a rhyme slut, apparantly.
ETA: My LJ is up! And fast! Yay!
And yet you had no comments for my rhyming masterpiece on Veronica Mars. Some slut.
You know what's fun yet somehow a bit sad, looking at the adoption pages of the animal shelter. On this page, I am loving Olive. And if you go to the next page, you will see Dante, a dog that is adorable.
I am not clicking on animal shelter links. That's how I got 3 of my 4 current animals.
Alibelle, I was simply worshipping you from afar.
Either that or I missed it with my skimming, skipping ways.
No, I can't look at shelters either. They make me sad.
See. This one at least is a no kill shelter. And it's where we got both of our dogs. I'm looking because a friend asked for us to keep a look out on a puppy that will grow up to be a small dog.
Another oatmeal cookie recipe. My mother's oatmeal cookies are the One True Cookie. These are crunchier cookies with a higher proportion of oatmeal.
Mother's Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar
1½ tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1½ cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 cups raw (not quick cooking) oatmeal
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup butterscotch or chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream butter. Add white and brown sugar. Blend well. Add vanilla. Add eggs; beat well. Add sifted flour mixture. Fold in Oatmeal, raisins and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
