It was never publically confirmed that our uncle Walter was gay, despite well, many many indications including the well-manicured home in the hills of San Francisco with the orchids that didn't survive the toddlerhood of his first child. Spurious, spurious, and well at least his older daughter's proudly out of the closet, even though her mother doesn't talk about it much.
In fact, if you wander around the USC campus yelling the names of old school black supermodels, her sister may answer and you can get it all from the horse's mouth. Just don't mention the gay uncle thing unless
she
brings it up.
So, let's say I had a right triangle, with angles of 60 and 30 degrees, and the side between the right angle and the 30 degree angle has a length of 4. How long is the side between the right angle and the 60-degree angle? Please show your work.
Tan(60)=4/x
Tan 60=SWRT(3)
x=4/SQRT(3) or 4*SQRT(3)/3
Emeline has hair! She is so totally plotting to take over the world.
Hi peeps!
And someone to come over and hold my hand and tell me that making the transition from student to functioning adult is not as difficult as it seems, that there are pretty apartments in safe areas that are affordable, and that I will own that pink kitchenaid stand mixer one day soon. Any volunteers?
Um, the transition is definitely not as bad as it seems. For one thing, "functioning adult" has a pretty fuzzy definition. Look at me.
WRT the apartment, find yourself a good roommate. Or two. As for the kitchenaid, you are on your own. I've been asking the husband for a pink kitchenaid for YEARS now.
Speaking of the husband, he's on his way here with Franny. I'm so delighted to have him bring her to the office.
Alibelle, thank you for the muffin yesterday! It dietarily made my day.
I need a haircut and a facial and to work out more.
Also, I'm ready to scream about stooopid LJ.
Oh, and Ali, where are you looking for a job?
At the moment, in the Daily Trojan, and through internships. I need to make a call to the LA Opera, actually, because they sometimes do makeup internships, and I can get references for doing makeup, and that would be an actual skill. Otherwise, I was thinking of looking for office assistant type stuff, like I'm doing now, and I'm sure I could get a reference from my boss, who's great. We do a lot of fundraising projects through our office, so I might be able to find a job at a foundation, or something, especially if my boss can recommend me to someone, but I haven't asked her any of that yet. Other than that, there's always Denny's or something, and I have some experience hostessing for a catering hall, which kind of transfers over, I'd imagine, but I probably can't get a reference from that company, since everyone that I knew no longer works there. Why? Do you have some better ideas? Because I am very open to suggestions.

I'm not figuring it out at all, but is it a 3, 4, 5 triangle?

Sorry -- just curious. I got nothing.
But! You could apply to be a personal assistant to a cranky almost-star and tell us stories.
P-C... I think not, but I'm going to have to go look it up.
-t, okay, but what if you were a 9th-grader, and thus unfamiliar with the mysteries of tangents and the like?
Alibelle, have you tried the placement folks at school?
So lj crashed on everyone, not just me?
I'd love a facial. But not quite as much as I'd love a good foot massage right now.
P-C, having looked it up, I believe you've mixed up the hypotenuse with one of the other ones.
Okay, I'm glad at least that my answer (4/sqrt(3)) was right, but... I have no idea if I led them through it correctly. It seems unusual for the teacher to be expecting them to come up with that the way I did.
