That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

P-C, having looked it up, I believe you've mixed up the hypotenuse with one of the other ones.

Okay, I'm glad at least that my answer (4/sqrt(3)) was right, but... I have no idea if I led them through it correctly. It seems unusual for the teacher to be expecting them to come up with that the way I did.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I need a deep tissue massage.

And LJ is just telling me "Our."

I'm going to go home. It better be back up then.

Oh, and there's no way to simplify the cube root of 100, right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, okay. Got it. It's half an equilateral triangle, so the short side (from 90 to 60) is half the longest side (30 to 60). And because it's a right triangle, x^2+4^2=(2x)^2, so 16=3x^2 and x=4/SQRT(3).

I have forgotten how to do entities and have to run out to celebrate my MiL birthday. Hope that made sense!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And LJ is just telling me "Our."

I thought that was just me.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

No worries. I just felt bad with the xpost. I was all "LIFE SUCKS!!!!" and you were all "tell me something nice."

True. *sniffle*

It was never publically confirmed that our uncle Walter was gay, despite well, many many indications including the well-manicured home in the hills of San Francisco with the orchids that didn't survive the toddlerhood of his first child. Spurious, spurious, and well at least his older daughter's proudly out of the closet, even though her mother doesn't talk about it much.
In fact, if you wander around the USC campus yelling the names of old school black supermodels, her sister may answer and you can get it all from the horse's mouth. Just don't mention the gay uncle thing unless she brings it up.

That is awesome. Thank you.

WRT the apartment, find yourself a good roommate. Or two. As for the kitchenaid, you are on your own. I've been asking the husband for a pink kitchenaid for YEARS now.

Yeah, I have roommate issues. The best ones are all claimed, and/or flaky about agreeing to live with me, and then agreeing to live with a family member instead. But thank you!

Speaking of the husband, he's on his way here with Franny. I'm so delighted to have him bring her to the office.

Ooh! Burrell, what are your office hours? I tried finding you yesterday, and I had zero luck.

Alibelle, thank you for the muffin yesterday! It dietarily made my day.

Aww. It was so fun seeing you. And yet, I was left with a craving for goldfish for the rest of the day.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

to which address, Kat?

Ooo, gotta run! Baby here!

Polter-Cow - Jan 14, 2005 3:17:24 pm PST #6184 of 10002
What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Aw crap, I screwed up, didn't I? I forgot my trig. 30-60-90 is actually x, x times the square root of 3, (x times the square root of 3) over 3. Right? So 4=x sqrt(3). x=4/sqrt(3). Which is the answer. I think. I suck.

30-60-90 is a special triangle, Emily. They should just memorize it.
