Natter 31 But Looks 29
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have never had high thread count sheets. wanna buy me some ? (I always mean to. But then I see the cheap sheets at target and notice none of the htc sheets come in dark colors, that I've seen, and...yeah, well. I have 3 sets of sheets. Two flannel, one for guests and green cotton.)
I have to renew my passport. It expires in 6 months. It's 10 years old!
So is mine, sara. When's your birthday? Register for sheets and people will get them for you.
Cindy --
some
brands are lying about it. Wamsutta, IIRC, is one that's not. The ones that were lying were claiming twice over. So if the 1200tc guys are lying, you're getting 600. Which is still nice. But watch the price.
Sara -- I only buy in dark colours (I have maroon and pewter and navy). Overstock's
really
high end stuff seems to be white or beige. But they do have some 600s in dark colours. And Costco, iffen that applies, had (I think) a 4 or 600 count set for $50 or $60 in maroon (vague memories, but it was the full set of sheets I had to buy for my parents to sleep on and in).
ita's sugar-daddy can please kindly copy me on the entire order.
John Sweden, M-W does not agree:
One entry found for momentarily.
Main Entry: mo·men·tar·i·ly
Function: adverb
1 : for a moment
2 archaic : INSTANTLY
3 : at any moment : in a moment
Hee, Kat. I'll probably just mention it to my mom. Or not. I may wait until I upgrade my bed.
I have to find dark green. Maybe even a dark gold (duvet cover is a dark crimson nubby silk, rug is faux oriental in same.)
On the "nauseous"/"momentarily"/etc., debate, I have 2 things to say:
(1) One of the characters on The O.C. just used "nauseous" incorrectly, and it happened right about the time I caught the beginning of the discussion about correct usage, so I laughed and laughed.
(2) Groundhog Day Thread.
Also on The O.C. -- dude, *I*
made out to that Journey song when *I* was in
high school!!!! And
I'm 33, yo,
so that's saying something.
And they namechecked
"Whedon's X-Men"!!!
(Which probably didn't need to be whitefonted, but what the hell. Quick-edit makes it so easy to whitefont.)
Beech sheets are actually made from beech trees. They're incredibly silky, but they look like regular sheets instead of slippy slidy satin (they have a faint sheen to them, but only faint). Incredibly soft, and the fabric holds dye beautifully, so if you get 'em in a deep dark color like navy or burgundy they'll stay that way much, much longer than regular cotton sheets.
Hec and I have a burgundy set that's been washed about a dozen times: even softer than when new, slightly less sheeny, but the color is just as dark and rich. I love them so much.
Steph, is he doing a screenplay for that?
What size is your bed, sara? For reference, there are a bunch here.
I really only need to buy one set, for a twin bed, for guests. But the problem is, I look, I don't find, I start to think dangerously about consoling myself.
I need to remember that my PDA is on its last legs, and just focus.
OK, something I've been wondering and getting closer to getting for, oh, probably 5 years: what is Costco? Sort a nonwaltons Sam's Club? More warehousey? Less?
Never seen one.
