Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Congrats on the raise, Heather!

I get to work from home on MLK, but we have off for the Inauguration. So it's a three-day workweek next week. Next time I'll have off is in March for Easter.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Is 10 holidays a year pretty standard? Because I'm wondering what we don't get off to make room for Mardi Gras. I always thought it was Memorial Day, but that's on the list this year.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

State offices are officially closed on Monday, but because I work for the Lege (even though most of the Rs are going to be in DC), I have to be here.

My next official holiday is Memorial Day, but my problem is not so much no days off technically as finding 6 weeks that my company can spare me so as not to lose the vacation days that won't roll over.

I think we get 8 official holidays plus a floating holiday (since our office doesn't close on Good Friday).

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I used to have that long haul to memorial day - HATED IT! That is what drove me to start taking vacations in Feb.

Sniffle. I used to do the annual President's Day weekend vacation to attend the Bronze Posting Board Party. February is gonna feel very odd this year.

I have to horde my vacations days, in case the trip to Greece in June actually happens. Luckily, the Feds have a fair number of three day weekends scattered throughout the year.

No MLK day off here. I'm at that nasty point where the next day we're closed is Memorial Day.

Yup. I'm in the same boat.

Is 10 holidays a year pretty standard? Because I'm wondering what we don't get off to make room for Mardi Gras. I always thought it was Memorial Day, but that's on the list this year.

We get Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years plus two "personal holidays". So 10 is generous in my book.

This is me, though 4 weeks instead of 6. But I normally just have to take random days off here and there throughout the year to not lose any of my time.

Back to the radio station thing, I still mourn the loss of Rock 103.5 here in Chicago and it's been years.
