I didn't know how to parse that. I didn't know if he meant, that's just the way it is with regard to how people think of him, or if he meant that that's just the way it is with regard to how he thinks about non-religious people.
Well in light of the first paragraph, I think it's pretty clear what he thinks of non-religious people.
