Someone is fucking with the stairwell door outside my office and it is driving me NUTS. I'm about to go glare at them.

Someone is fucking with the stairwell door out....
They could be fucking up against the stairwell door. IJS
No, they were trying to get the lock to latch, by slamming it repeatedly. Um, the lock doesn't engage until the door has been closed a second or two. Pulling it back open immediately is just going to prevent the lock from engaging. I demonstrated.

They could be fucking up against the stairwell door. IJSOh sure, Laura. But then sarameg would have to change her ver to gawk or spy (in which case she'd have to change her prepostion from at to on) and where would it end?
steel-cut. I boiled water, dumped in the oats, took off heat, covered and let soak overnight - then put into a airtight container in teh fridge for a day because I was too lazy to cook yesterday morning. I cooked half of them on the stove top with a little milk for 5 minutes today. I will cook the other half either for dinner tonight or tomorrow morning.
I haven't seen last night VM. I do understand dislikeing her. but I am interested in her life . similar to desperate housewives. I don't really like anybody that much. Just interested in where these lives are going. Buffy was not my favorite character- I didn't really start being interested in her until she came back.
Do you think that process will work if you soak it in milk, or would that get gross?
I reheated this morning, and, well, the porridge had turned to pudding overnight. Took some vigourous stirring in added milk to make it drinkable again.
Drinkable? The last thing I want in my oatmeal is drinkability. I eat mine with a spoon.
P-C -- can you share the VM love? Can you explain to me why she's not smug and selfish, and how all the other characters save Logan will have their day again, and .. okay, I don't blame you if you don't try. But I don't understand how an episode that made me so mad (remember, I watched Andromeda last season) can be other people's best eva.
I'll give it a quick shot, but I understand that these things are subjective, and while I've been on the love train since the beginning, you've mostly been on a like train, or maybe just a car.
I won't deny that I wasn't a bit skeeved by the deliberate listening in on her friend's private conversations. She's a private eye, and that's what she does, yes, but that's one hell of a line to cross. This is, of course, a girl who did a background check on her boyfriend. But I think she realizes the weirdly loose morals of her avocation and how she's taken them on. There was a bit about it in "Drinking the Kool-Aid." She will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of her best friend's murder, and I think it will be interesting to see whether, at the end, she thinks the ends justified the means. It's like Giles killing Ben.
I don't find her smug and selfish, but that could be because KB is a likable actress. Okay, she may be a bit smug, but I think for the most part, she has cause. It's not like she turns up her nose at everyone, ever. Just the people she doesn't like or who are giving her shit. She's totally cool with Wallace.
Last night's episode was great because the MOTW works best when it involves some regular characters (unless what's at stake is some chick Wallace likes that we'll never see again). Logan got even more interesting, and the Echolls family? Is fucked-up.
I also noticed Veronica's not getting to the time-lapse photos till later, but I didn't have a problem with it because I was so absorbed by the episode, I figured there was a good reason. It wasn't like she was just sitting around.
The episodes have been getting more and more full. Each one has at least three different things going on, and some of it's connected and some of it isn't, but it's all important. And the arc, it continues.
I have to go to a seminar, and then I'll be at the comic book store, so I won't see your response if there is one for a couple hours. I don't know whether I helped. I'm probably just more forgiving than you.
Buffy was not my favorite character
Oh, I get that -- she never was mine either. But as of last night, I actively dislike VM. I don't respect her. I think she's a spoiled brat, written like I'm not supposed to shudder when she comes onscreen.
DH I think is a bit light on judging their characters -- what's happened to Gabrielle now that her secret's out? Nothing. Susan's a moron, but I guess we're to be fond. Bree -- well, lady has some issues. And Lynette's drug habit doesn't faze me at all. I find it easier to ignore the unlikability of some of these women (I like Lynette, and might have to kill all the rest) because there's so much going on around them. There's this vortex (not Vortex) swirling around VM that I can no longer buy into it. I don't care why she's upset or searching for answers anymore. She crossed my sympathy lines, in ways I'd have to cut people out of my life for.
