Can anyone sum it up for me, or point me to a recap?
Harrumph indeed. The basic mystery is that
someone has framed VM for making false IDs. The guy who fingers her admits that the school's secret society (Tritons) made him do it. VM goes on a badly-scoped investigative mission, involving recording the drop spot for ordering ID cards, but doesn't actually look at the tape until the last minute. In the meanwhile, she's also trying to track down the pledge class of the Tritons, including Duncan Kane.
It turns out that
the kid who pointed the finger was the one framing her and the Tritons, because he was pissed they didn't ask him to pledge. This means that the million dollar lawsuit against VM (for making the IDs that led to the kid's friend drinking himself into a coma) and others is dropped, and Kane isn't affiliated with dorks (VM gets photos of the society, but gives them back to Duncan).
Running alongside that,
VM put a radio broadcast thingy in the counsellor's office, and listens to Duncan and Logan and Weevil talking about Lily's death -- she learns that Duncan was on meds (including but not limited to ADs) and is prone to 'episodes' without them, and that Logan blames himself and everyone (they were kinda broken up when she died, because of VM telling Lily that Logan kissed someone else) for the death, and that Weevil and Lily dated during one of the L/L off times.
That's the bit that grossed me the most.
Also, Logan
and his parents have a huge argument in school, with threats of violence (by Logan), and the episode ends with the view of one of the Echoll's sports cars on a bridge, door open and empty.
Heh. tightie whities save the day.
From the article:
Lipscomb had been in the flooded timberland near Hollowell Reservoir for about 12 hours when he was rescued. To survive, he drank dirty bayou water and ate a raw duck breast.
Okay, I can see the water, but dude, no way am I eating raw duck after only 12 hours.
~ma for lisah's friend's dad.
Skipping the VM whitefont until I can see the much maligned episode for myself.
I learned I "Rochambeau" from my first college roommate, who was from Hawaii. Four generations of Northern Californian forebears did not call it that, at least not in my hearing.
Did anyone finish off counting rhymes with "My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not IT" (with or without the "not" depending on how drawn out a process you were going for)? What is this chapeau?
I
have
to start celebrating National Pie Day.
(eduited for correct aiming of ~ma)

Maybe he just happened to have some really good duck sauce with him. (Duck sauce that doesn't taste very good by itself, that is....)

I loved it and thought it was fucking awesome as usual, -t. Just for the record. And most of the people on TWoP agree, which is unusual for TWoP but usual for this show.
"My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not IT" (with or without the "not" depending on how drawn out a process you were going for)
Yep. Although, let's be honest, the "not" was as contingent on who you
really
wanted to pick as on the length of the rhyme.
I have to start celebrating National Pie Day.
My only concern is that they aren't being ambitious enough. It should be international pie day at the very least. Maybe intergalactic.

Yes.
We also learned the racist "eanie-meanie-minee-moe" thing. Which was kind of weird, as there were no blacks at all where I grew up.

Re: TAR:
well, blah. I found myself kind of hoping that Kris and Jon would be eliminated because then I would have no reason to watch the show. I find it to be quite joyless, and the uber leg over the holidays depressed me, because Gus and Hera ran an excellent leg which got completely wiped out with the artificial bunching. Plus the unpleasant personalities and the FF-ness and the J&V, which are so beyond "unpleasant personalities" that I am starting to wonder why I willingly allow them on my television sets.
And,
re: the non-elim. I was kind of meh about it. On one hand, I hate Hayden. But I like Aaron and I kind of think he will give her come-uppance. Also, the fact that the non-elim came in when J&V weren't recipients makes me happy.
I would melt into a puddle of rage if
JV got the benefit of a non-elim round.
IJS.
