That's cool! I love the colors.
I bought mine because I felt sorry for it--it needed re-wiring, and was perhaps the most exceptionally tacky thing I'd ever seen (there's a lot more green in my shade, so it looks like an exploded rainbow). However, once I got it working, I was madly in love. It gives the best sort of warm glow as a bedside light. And the softened star shape is just gorgeous. It really is the best light ever.
I was more than a little shocked when, in attempting to find a mate for it, I saw the prices for *just* a mate for the shade on eBay. Someday, however, my elephant will have a happy herd.
ND, it is obvious you need to come out here and design the lighting for my condo.
You want a sound guy to design your lighting?
sigh
I just saw an ad for Point Pleasant saying "from the producer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer." They didn't bother to specify Marti.
I grew up with lighted "Moravian stars," especially at Christmas, since the Salem half of Winston-Salem was founded by Moravians. They were traditionally made of parchment paper and to be hung only under a porch roof, or indoors. They're still made of paper, but also of white opaque plastic now, so they can be used year after year outdoors. Folding one of the paper ones, even with instructions, pre-cut sections and tabs and slots, is a challenge.
Some people like them so much they never take them down, but at Christmas the stars hang over half the front doors in town. The local medical school complex has a lit 12-foot star on its roof every year.
Also, Cass would like to know: Does it vibrate?
Nah, I got the vibrating things worked out... It's the new and exciting candle things...
Okay, like this
NEED!
Hi, my name is Cass and I really like candles.
As a lighting thing.
Nope, no way I can make this not porn...
I really like the star though.
Also, I wish that mine were wired for electricity. I wonder if I could use the other fixtures to make it work?
At nearly any hardware store you can get a plain socket w/cord & plug. You'd just have to attach the cord to the chain to hold the socket in the right position.

Actually, I've got all the expertise at my fingertips if I wanted it. Most of the project managers at ETC owe me big time for making sure their turn ons go smoothly. I'm sure I could call in a number of favors from them and Tech Services any day of the week. But, really, I have a condo. No challenge for them at all.

Tim Minear is involved in it?
Loved
his work on Buffy...
