the address in her notebook had an apt # with it.
It is a stupid thing for me to be bothered by, still, I'm bothered.
My mom eats steel cut oats, she soaks them overnight. I have re-heated them fine. I have some but have yet to cook them myself. I like them fine, better for you than regular oats.
Ryan Reynolds and Thomas Jane both consumed steel-cut as part of their action movie workout regimens.
I am childishly entranced with this, although neither of them kept it up after the movies -- so it's probably better to use TV stars as unrealistic models.
msbelle, I just mentally translated that
to suite/office number, once they showed up at the clinic. I could have been fanwanking/handwaving a little too much though.
the steel cut oatmeal would have to be pretty damn spectacular to make me spend that much time preparing it.
Yeah. How unusual for the irish. Take something simple, perfect and life-affirming, that the Scots are doing right and make it drudgery, misery and eternal.
Example: hating the English.
I put some steel-cut oats in a gift basket for DH's grandmother for Christmas. I thought they sounded tasty--but didn't realize they were such a pain in the ass to cook.
I don't believe I've ever had steel cut oats. I make the 5-minute (as opposed to instant) Quaker oats pretty often. Sometimes I mix them with peanut butter. Other times I'll sautee half an apple with some cinnamon, cloves, and butter, and then mix that with the oatmeal. The latter tastes better, but the former stays with me longer (probably due to the fat and protein in the peanut butter).
School? What school? I.e., I've been on vacation for WEEKS already and have more weeks yet to go. Life is good, although I am really incredibly accomplished at doing nothing.
mmmm Ryan Reynolds.
Oats rock. I'm so psyched for Monday brekkie.
(Although I will cut Lee a little slack because she does recognize that bacon is of the devil)
Yay!
