The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Carl's Jr. now has a double pastrami burger.

Why?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Maybe it is the tan. Or the angles. OK, I have no idea.

I think they have some factory where they find young actresses who already look middle aged.

That works for me! Though I'd rather not be one.

(I've been thinking I look my age, based on pictures from 5 years ago. But then I see pictures from the holiday, and I have no idea. Mirrors and cameras work strangely differently.)

I know two contracts ago, the very young peeps on the team were shocked that I was at least five years older than they were, but sans makeup and in normal clothes, I look my age. I think.

Funny thing isn't it? Of course, the times I look in the mirror are mostly at home, makeupfree and in grey sweats (as I am now, with my hair pulled back in obnoxious neon mini claws), putting makeup on, or making sure everything fits right in the minute before I leave the house.

My coworkers are always teasing me, acting shocked I'm turning 30 this year. But they've been giving me shit since I started here at 22 and was the baby on the team. It was a relief when I started being older than the interns, that's for sure. Then the grad students. Now the post docs.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Everyone in my RWA chapter is stunned, stunned that I'm in my 30's. I'm not sure whether I believe them, but I choose to be flattered.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've decided that the only reason people think I look "young for my age" is because I don't wear makeup, and I think I might have to start when I start looking for a job again.

Nah, Jesse. I can say honestly that in your case, I think it is good skin & bones;)

Aw, thanks. My skin is generally good, it's true. Although lately, it's probably been the HUGE ZITS making me look young!

I never have any idea how old people are -- if I'm thinking of them as my peers, I assume they are the same age as me, but that's about it.
