My official opinion on pimp cups is that they are as ugly as class rings.

I do not see them as similar in any way. Sure some men's class rings can get ginormous and tacky, but not all - and they signify completion of a milestone.

It's the ginormous and tacky thing, msbelle, but you're right, as social signifiers go, "class" tends to be much more substantial than "pimp." Then again, "pimp" might just be a bit more exclusive.
