Harold and the Purple Crayon!
It still makes me respond like this. The first book I ever loved.
Now going home. Really. Just finishing putting these simulations to run for the night, and then home.

The Eric Carle books, board and otherwise. Also, Goodnight Moon. Pat the Bunny. I loved the Richard Scary books, but I have a friend who is creeped out by Goldbug and I'm not sure the age on those.
Any good suggestions? I'll take toddler through early reader.
The Dumb Bunnies (ages 4-8, so it's probably out of your range)
Stand Back, Said the Elephant, I'm Going to Sneeze (also ages 4-8)
nilly beat me to my favorite
Any good suggestions? I'll take toddler through early reader. I think my mom is making him a bookcase.
Annabel loves her Dr. Seuss board books. Still in the board book genre, I like Hug, The Runaway Bunny, Guess How Much I Love You, and Time For Bed.
Nilly beat me to the other one I thought of after posting. Also:
Bread & Jam for Frances. The Runaway Bunny. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie . The Rainbow Fish is shiny!
!!!!Happy Birthday, ita!!!!!
Okay, back to icky reports. Too many meetings today! Argh!
There ought to be a rule: no having six meetings the week after the holidays. It's just WRONG.
Allyson, it's been a long time since I bought any children's books, but I still have fond memories of Amelia Bedelia. Don't know if it's still in print, though.
I got him Goodnight Moon, Stinky Cheeseman, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, Harold and the Purple Crayon, A Snowy Day, Moo Baa La La La, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and Where the Wild Things Are many moons ago.
He likes the board books, likes turning the pages. Some are too much for him yet but he'll have 'em when he wants wants 'em.
Oh, before running out: I can't think of a toddler who didn't like Dr. Seuss, even in the Hebrew translation (and as good as some of them are, the English original is even more fun). Allyson, you're a good auntie!
t Running out, pleased with glittery pinkish new thoughts, promising them they will be well taken care of
