"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'd probably put Rice in too, now that I think of it. The guy was an absolute monster hitter for a very long time. Also, an underrated outfielder (which will happen when you come up playing next to Fred Lynn and Dwight Evans).

People talk about Blyleven's curveball, but you had to see it to believe it. Nobody before or since had a curveball like he did. That fucker snapped with the tightest, sharpest break I've ever seen on a ball. It wasn't a big 12 to 6 curveball like Zito has. It was almost like a down-hooking slider in the strikezone.

Thanks! I've got a load of unpacking to do, but at least I'm now into my new place.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh yeah, congrats, ND.

So, I need a USB audio input/output for my Cube (and occasionally my iBook too) so I can connect the Cube to a stereo and so I can connect a turntable into it as well. Here's the post I made in Bufistech a few days ago:

I'm gonna be in the same position in a month. Not looking forward to it, but looking forward to it being over. Congrats.

Right, I saw that and just didn't have a chance to respond.

I've had very good luck with M-Audio gear over the years. Edirol has been hit or miss for me.

The big thing that you need to watch for is something that has a Phono Pre-Amp in it, since turntables have a special EQ curve that is included in that preamp. If the USB interface doesn't include it you can get it by running the Turntable through a little preamp. I'm pretty sure that Radio Shack still sells a cheap preamp with a phono input.

eta

You can also combine this with this.

did anyone else read "blah, blah, blah Radio Shack, blah"?

Yeah, I've had one of those Radio Shack pre-amps for years.

Thanks. My current googling seems to indicate that very few USB audio input thingies have a phono pre-amp.

Swouncing

So, no brain for loaning? I'm not looking for braaaaaaaains, I'm not even looking for brains. Just the one will probably be enough. And I'll take good care of it, and will return it right when I finished using it. How's that?

I think this post is a proof that it's time for me to go home and continue from there. Brainless. Helpless, hopeless, but, thankfully, not unemployed in Greenland.

[Edit: still here to appreciate, that 2*4=8]
