Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

ita, the glasses, hands, and barefoot calendars opened just fine for me, but my computer hates ragtimetojazz, so I can't see the wet men. Those are indeed some foine specimens, yupyupyup. I especially like December of Hands.

I toyed with the idea of buying a Barahir ring...until the penny dropped that I didn't want the ring, I wanted the hand that wears the ring...and all it's attached to.

We made veggabeef soup today, a whole vatful. DH is incapable of making chili or soup in smaller than vatloads. Is scrumptious. But I'm going to have to freeze some and/or give some away, or we're going to be eating soup three times a day for awhile.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm scared of plastination.

Also. it's cold.

The dogs aren't sure of what to make of the upheaval in the house. Kuma wanted the back door open, but not to exit (it is raining after all), but to lie in front of the door. Bear is freaked out because some of her spaces are gone.

Maceo wants to know where the old furniture went.

Jesse, I can only handle two more days of upheaval before I give up. I took 4 bags of clothes to the donation box (Lori needs to do a purge of the 8,556 pairs of jeans she owns). I have ~5 boxes of books plus 3 shopping bags to be gotten rid of.

We can't lose the momentum because once we stop, we'll start accumulating more and never finish the job.

What's tasty? Southwestern Chicken Soup and Grilled cheese sammichs. Perfect cold and rainy food.

We have too much stuff.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Grilled cheese and soup is always the right answer. Though I like it with tomato soup.

Happy New Year y'all!! Mine wasn't that great. I spent the early evening all dressed up lying on the couch in the presidential suite the bar rented watching ABC sitcoms and waiting for Mr. H to finish setting up the rooms. When we finally got dressed and headed up to the bar at a little after 10, he got yelled at for being late (never mind that he just set up the two rooms for the after party BY HIMSELF). Soda guns ran out at nearly midnight and he had to go get bottled and canned soda, so I didn't get to kiss him at midnight. Party at the hotel was pretty fun though, and some strange guy who asked to borrow our room's bathroom called me a goddess, so that was nice.

Got a call from a friend this morning. She wants to get a divorce (of course I've heard this from her before). She came and had lunch with me and we talked about what she was going to do. Restraining orders and secret apartments. Very depressing.

In better stuff, the Mac's all set up and in my New Year's optimism, I've set up all sorts of lists and projects and journals and stuff (F2F included). Plus I just set up my iTunes account and am now downloading James McMurtry and listening to his "Red Dress" which makes me happy.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Why is Super Milk Chan making fun of Col. Sanders?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Why is Super Milk Chan making fun of Col. Sanders?

I think the real question is "Why is Super Milk Chan?"

It's best not to question. It just is. Just like how it's best not to question why I watch it....

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I can't get to the cute Annabel pictures.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

You didn't get her a pink Mariners cap, Susan?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

It could be the rush, Heather. I got to them just fine. Try again. The "usual expression" one is really great.
