Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Does she suck like a hoover?

Yes, I had to go to the most off-color place.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Squee!!!! aurelia, part one has arrived! I love the smell of the candle and the chocolate is ALWAYS appreciated. I've never heard of Wrapsacks before; it's a wonderful idea. I'll enter my info tonight. The calendar of vintage posters is perfect! It shall replace my vintage Italian movie poster calendar on January 3d, when I again grace the office with my presence. And the penguin card! Hee!

Really, this package couldn't have come at a better time.

To my santee, I was hoping to get your gift out today, but it's looking less and less likely. I still have to wrap the sucker. It will go out Monday at the latest.

brillig

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive, well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, choc. in one hand, martini in other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "Woo!"

Bless you, MFNlaw, I needed to see that.

Our wings are not tired.

Dear Secret Santa, at the last moment I decided to take off for upstate NY to do the snow thing. We will be gone from Dec 29 - Jan 7. If stuff is in the mail my neighbor will grab it for me.

DH decided he wanted to fly out on the 6AM flight on the 29th. He doesn't know that his surprise birthday party will keep him up late the 28th. Guess we will sleep on the plane.

I'm in frantic mode here. Dinner for a dozen or so family types on Saturday and then a party for 40 or so on Tuesday. Did I mention that I haven't shopped for anyone except the kids and my very special Buffista? The house is a pit.

cleaning now...

Swouncing

Poking my head to wish everybody who celebrates happy holidays, great presents (both to give and to get), good company, and in general, a good rest-of-the-week.

As for my 2004, even though that's not the way I count years - well, y'all know what's the special thing about that year was for me. You guys are responsible for that!

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Wheee! I just got a box from Ginger. There were presents for Tyrone, Aidan and me in it; some really lovely homemade treats, including little gingerbread men cookies, one of which has already lost his head to Kara's fierce teeth, all in a gorgeous box, and the whole thing packed in pink peanuts with red confetti shreds and green metal confetti wreaths. Greg has confiscated the goo-goo clusters. He's never eaten one and I've been meaning to buy one for him to try.

Thank you Ginger.

Kara put the presents under the tree. She thinks she's not getting anything else this year since I keep hiding the other boxes that have come in for everyone. Thanks too, to Lee and sj, who have made sure my children are going to look like no-longer-greedy little monsters on Christmas morning.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

2004 was the year I met FAQ Girl. All other events in my life pale in significance.

AW! Loving the love. Happy holidays to you both, please send my best wishes to her.
