Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Winter Garden, not Winter Cafe. Check. It's that one, I believe. Her version of "God Rest Ye" raised all the nerves at the nape of my neck. Just exquisite.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I put that one on the xmas mix for Jilli. It seemed Jilli-esque.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Yep, sumi, that's the one. I think that one is the EP, and the other is full-length (or do I have that backwards?). Must track down CD copies, if not for this year, than for the next. My current heavy-rotation wintry album is Susan McKeown & Lindsey Horner's Through the Bitter Frost & Snow, sort of in a similar vein, though somewhat more spare and dark.

Art Crawl!!!

A Winter Garden is the ep -- one of my favorites too.

I can't even.

I love Loreena. I've seen her at Massey Hall twice. The first time, I lucked into great tickets and they were 8th row, centre. When that concert ended, it was like waking from a dream, she was so good.

Huh. I realize now that Massey Hall is a real place, and not just a Shangri La for the Greatest Jazz Concert Ever.

It is a terrific, intimate venue, the sort of place that disappeared in the 80s, except MH didn't.

Barenaked Ladies played there this week. I bet that was a fun show.

If I only had a brain...

I think I'm going to have to add "Son of why I hate 2005"

I got my first reading glasses in July. They are already too weak for my eyes; I'll be getting a new pair January 2, when the vision-insurance year begins.
