Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

Heh heh heh.

Because books.

Bev and Ginger, I would really like to come to the Arts and Crafts exhibit. Would Monday be possible?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

catchup:

Eh, being the complete coffee snobs that we are, we tend to find a lot of Starbucks over-roasted. If there's a coffee grinder, I can bring some whole bean of a particularly good Ravensbrew cuppa.

See, I find the Ravensbrew way too light. I need three or four cups before I feel as if I've actually had coffee. The Ravensbrew is in elite company, since I feel that way about Jamaican Blue Mountain and Kona, as well. But I aint a-sleepin' at the hotel, so I'm uninvolved except on the provision end.

Tough, ND. You & me get to slog through a ton of work.

I'll be over here, painting.

With all due respect for hard work and grumpiness, my heart is not bleeding for either of you, yo. I'm trying to finish the fourth Kinkaid before I start co-writing this book with Daymond John, and I'm point person for this and volunteer at HWA and somewhere in the middle of that there's a sigmoidoscopy and the book with Daymond means another week at least away from the computer because I'll be in New York, working my arse off. Let's trade. (Speaking of which, NY folks, I just heard from Daymond via my daughter and the trip is being booked this week. I want Afghan food while I'm there, yes?) And mustn't forget the anthology that isn't going to tell me the word count until it's last minute.

Dying over the Clovis-Daddy thing.

The de Young is eight minutes walk on flat ground from my house.

edit:

Deb has the amazing power of persuasion that I do not possess.

I spent half of yesterday afternoon pimping the Arts and Crafts exhibit to her. She may love us, but don't underestimate the power of turn of the century design in luring an Amyparker.

You can ask her yourself, next week. Two bucks she says it was me.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I've already asked her and she did credit Deb.

See? It's all in the wrist action.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yes, AmyLiz! And as far as I know, Monday is sorta unplanned at this point. Certainly seems doable.

Aimee, thanks, but I was precipitatoimpatient and went ahead and placed the order.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Can we get a roll call, or anyhow some kind of bullshit consensus, on the thrifting/corsetry expedition? Who's definitely interested, who's got a preference for Valencia or Haight (brief breakdown here; I know that Jeeves is leaning anti-Haight, but no idea of anyone else's preference), what time people want to get started?

I like the sound of both, but given a choice I say “Go pirates! Choose pirates!” Obviously. But I’m easy.

Needing plus sized clothes, I'm not sure how much success I'd actually have in the thrift stores

Yes. That. This is also my concern wrt corsets. Although, OMG, want.

I, of course, want to go to Valencia b/c of the pirate store, the hat store, Borderlands books, and and and ...

Ah. Yes. As Jilli goes, so goes my nation.

I'm so conflicted about the Dark Garden trip. Of course I want to go and look, because I love my DG corset. I just know I won't be able to afford to get another corset from them right now.

What kind of money are we talking here?

Also, I want to be sure to be available for the vid show Saturday afternoon, because I've known Laura Shapiro for, uh, at least 6 years and still haven't met her.

Crap. Absoposolutely want to be back for the vids.

I think a rough outline of Saturday looks like: morning cartoons and readings, early afternoon thrifting/wandering/exploring, later afternoon vidding and/or Once More With Feeling singalong/show watching/vegging in the HS. Early evening people break off into smaller groups for dinner, then return to primp for Prom.

This! I want this to be my day!

has it already been discussed to maybe get something for Lilibeth in way of a thank you gift for being the rockingest thing that etc etc etc?

Good idea.

Babydoll t and the mug would be perfect.

Word.

Sunday there's the A's game for those who are going. That will take up most of the afternoon.

…oh, crap. See, I like the idea of doing the game in order to (a) hang with cool Buffistas and (b) see Americans in their natural habitat, being very American. But I do flinch a bit at the thought of losing the whole afternoon to watching baseball. Because my actual interest in baseball (or any other sport) is…well, pretty much less than zero. Gah. Still conflicted, as it turns out.

All your amyparker is BELONGING TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Wooohoooo!!!!!!!!! OMG, that's fanTAStic! Way to go!

Aimee is bringing Eddie Izzard??????

See, with this crowd it wouldn't surprise me. And of course he'd fit right in. Plus, he'd swell the ranks of British Buffistafolk. And he'd totally have the ensembles for the Prom. Probably a corset.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

If Eddie Izzard shows up, I'm licking him. That's all there is to it. First I shall lick him and then feed him. It's a protocol.

Fay, if you'd rather pass on the baseball, there will be right around 38 people wandering in and out the garden at Chez Grabien on Sunday. And several of them will be here from the get-go, including Parker and AmyLiz (I think) and Bev and (I believe) Raq and....

serial because it's gone one ack emma and I want my damned meds now....

Also, forgot to say, am also planning a bowl or three of of fagioli e tonno (just waiting for someone to come and and snarl at my piss-poor Italian middle of the night grammar/spelling, but I'm asleep on my feet, sorry sorry): anyway, little white lovely beans tossed with herbs, albacore tuna, olive oil, lemon juice and a light shaving of reggiano.

And I'd thought about hauling the all-clad slow cooker up there, for a homemade vat of soup, but probably not, probably not...
