Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I love the mid-morning Saturday dim-sum idea.

Oh me too! I have fantasies of sleeping a little late, cartoons and Pooh in our jammies, then dim sum.

It's like 'Ffista Heaven.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I kind of have a school-trip mentality: did we lose anybody?? Okay, up against the wall! Headcount!

You know what helps with that? Cell phones. Which allows people to wander off in any number of configurations and then reconvene.

I think a rough outline of Saturday looks like: morning cartoons and readings, early afternoon thrifting/wandering/exploring, later afternoon vidding and/or Once More With Feeling singalong/show watching/vegging in the HS. Early evening people break off into smaller groups for dinner, then return to primp for Prom.

That's not set by any means, but that's more or less how Saturdays have gone. People going to the Winchester House would obviously be on a different schedule.

For those who have not done an F2F before Do Not Stress about the breaking off into smaller dinner parties element on Saturday. Nobody ever gets left behind. Some folks plan ahead for that meal, others just wing it.

Friday will have one batch of people going off to the evening Alcatraz tour. The boat leaves at 6:20 I think, so people will need to be down there and assembled before hand. (5:45ish?) If you plan to go, you need to get tickets ahead of time. Many folks will prefer to just hang out in the HS or relax on Friday evening. I know that I will be returning to the Hospitality Suite after Alcatraz and returning Emmett to his Mom. Mostly Friday is just loose, with lots of people arriving. Lots of people are coming in on Thursday as well, so that will also be big with the impromptu hanging out.

Sunday there's the A's game for those who are going. That will take up most of the afternoon. For those of you not attending (most of you) - it's an opportune time to go city exploring, or lounging about nursing your post-Prom hangover and watching Firefly in the HS. That might be a good time to check out Golden Gate Park or the Arts and Crafts exhibition in the De Young museum there. Or whatever you want.

Some folks will be leaving by Sunday, so make sure you figure out who the early exiters are so you can give them extra hugs and get your quality time in with them.

A lot of folks will probably be leaving Monday morning. A good time for last breakfasts. As noted upthread, SA will be getting in late on Monday night and will want to see any stragglers. Either that night or early Tuesday breakfast.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

As long as the first week on the job hasn't sucked the life outta me, I'm up for Valencia thrifting.

I went to the tiara place as well!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I have three tiaras I bought for Nilly, and she was so loaded down with tiars, she begged no mas.

I'll pick one out for Lilibeth, and we add a babydoll and a coffee mug. Does that work?

Good point! When is that getting started, Deb? Just open and running through the afternoon into the evening?

We traditionally have a lot of that in general -- people showing up in the Hospitality suite and finding some friends and doing something. For better or for worse, this seems to be the most 'pre-planed' F2F yet. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Our wings are not tired

In DC I think I was in the HS until the sun came up on Saturday morning.

Seriously, you might feel right now that you'll be left behind for something (we all raptured), but the reality is you'll probably have multiple groups begging you to come to dinner/activity x, so the people in that group can hog all your time from everybody else.
