Maybe on thrifting. I'm very interested, but want to play it by ear. I don't have any particular leanings, though the other places Steph mentioned are cool too. Needing plus sized clothes, I'm not sure how much success I'd actually have in the thrift stores.

I can't even.

Off to the airport (going in the other direction, sadly). Have a great time everyone, and Too Much Candy and lots of photos for thems/us that be missing out.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

SuziQ, my love and dearheart, we have decided to stay at the hotel on Thursday night as we had a bit of a windfall. Thank you for your hospitality. MWAH!

Also, what do you think would be a good amount yo pay K-Bug for her services Saturday night?

You might be surprised. Plus, you'll be with me, so you'll be able to take advantage of my thrift-fu!

I, of course, want to go to Valencia b/c of the pirate store, the hat store, Borderlands books, and and and ...

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

juliana! What was the last day you wanted PayPal money?

Friday, por favor.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

This...

But,

Jilli thrift-fu might help. I could be up for this.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I'm intrigued by the idea of thrifting, but don't know a thing about the location, intents, or anything else. And I worry that I might find it exhausting, if it's that big a group. I kind of have a school-trip mentality: did we lose anybody?? Okay, up against the wall! Headcount!

Also, I want to be sure to be available for the vid show Saturday afternoon, because I've known Laura Shapiro for, uh, at least 6 years and still haven't met her.

So that's a maybe?

Sob No Miracleborns in my crib.

I guess I'll just have to come out to the hotel to hang Thursday evening to see everyone.

Jilli thrift-fu sounds like a powerful force. I am in serious need of someone telling me "try this on - just DO IT".

Are we doing din sum pre-thrifting - or was that a different group of folks?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

De rien, Empress. Part of the point-person gig and anyway, I'm enough of a control freak to like to watch it come together.

OK, things I will definitely be bringing as food for the HS on Thursday:

insalata caprese (mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar)

tipsy fruit salad (mixed frozen fruit macerated in muscat and a dusting of confectioner's sugar, to make an incy boozy slush around the fruit, served over ice in a big bowl)

chicken teriyaki (chicken drumsticks stewed in a mixture of various liquids and spices, served cold)

either a classic Caesar or an Asian salad with (nitrate-free, organic) meats, noodles, and petit pois

Desserts for the HS will probably be storebought, although if I have time on Tuesday, I'll make a chocolate decadence.

Thoughts, requests, suggestions? juliana will be baking bread and Perkins will be bringing crudites and fresh fruit. There will also be wine, water, soda and juice in the HS fridge.
