Inara: We thought we lost you. Mal: Well, I've been right here.

'Out Of Gas'

F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I'm intrigued by the idea of thrifting, but don't know a thing about the location, intents, or anything else. And I worry that I might find it exhausting, if it's that big a group. I kind of have a school-trip mentality: did we lose anybody?? Okay, up against the wall! Headcount!

Also, I want to be sure to be available for the vid show Saturday afternoon, because I've known Laura Shapiro for, uh, at least 6 years and still haven't met her.

So that's a maybe?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Sob No Miracleborns in my crib.

I guess I'll just have to come out to the hotel to hang Thursday evening to see everyone.

Jilli thrift-fu sounds like a powerful force. I am in serious need of someone telling me "try this on - just DO IT".

Are we doing din sum pre-thrifting - or was that a different group of folks?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

De rien, Empress. Part of the point-person gig and anyway, I'm enough of a control freak to like to watch it come together.

OK, things I will definitely be bringing as food for the HS on Thursday:

insalata caprese (mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar)

tipsy fruit salad (mixed frozen fruit macerated in muscat and a dusting of confectioner's sugar, to make an incy boozy slush around the fruit, served over ice in a big bowl)

chicken teriyaki (chicken drumsticks stewed in a mixture of various liquids and spices, served cold)

either a classic Caesar or an Asian salad with (nitrate-free, organic) meats, noodles, and petit pois

Desserts for the HS will probably be storebought, although if I have time on Tuesday, I'll make a chocolate decadence.

Thoughts, requests, suggestions? juliana will be baking bread and Perkins will be bringing crudites and fresh fruit. There will also be wine, water, soda and juice in the HS fridge.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Maybe on thrifting for me. My plan was to head out to the hotel Saturday morning and meet people and see where that took me...

has it already been discussed to maybe get something for Lilibeth in way of a thank you gift for being the rockingest thing that etc etc etc?

I would LOVE to have a F2F tschotchke to give her. She's coming to Prom, and will be feted by me as a guest of honour - the woman has worked her arse off to get us what we need and I want to acknowledge her.

I was thinking of a babydoll tee for her. She's a tiny, slender little thing.

Our wings are not tired

She needs a corset. I know that it's totally unrealistic to get her one, but it seems like the only truly fitting Buffista gift.

Is it too late to order from CafePress? Babydoll tee and maybe the GIANORMOUS coffee mug?

ND, I wouldn't dare. I must say, though, I told her to expect a lot of corsets at Prom and she sighed, looked down at her own chest, and said "crap...."

It's one of those personal things you need to try on for yourself. A gift certificatre to Dark Garden would probably make her happy as hell, but really, a nice F2F memento.

I like Aimee's idea. Babydoll t and the mug would be perfect.
