Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hanging out with Deena in Cleveland waiting for Deb's flight to arrive. I see her coming down the concourse and leap out of my seat, running toward her, arms out for a flying hug. Halfway there, my mind goes, "Do we hug?" "I think we're too manly," then she looks up and sees me and one side of her mouth quirks up in a grin. I didn't actually tacklehug her, because I know about the achey issues. But really? The grin was almost as good as the hug.

I will hug anybody who will hug me back.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Having to hang out with other Seattle-istas? Would just be awful.

Heh.

(Plei, if you KNEW how many random co-workers, family members and wee Egyptian children have been shown pictures of Squeak for all the world like she's my neice...well, it's a trifle mad. But she's just THE most adorable thing. She kills me ded. Repeatedly.)

I used to be very unselfconsciously huggy at University. I remember it. Dimly. Now I tend to be sort of prickly-English-half-assed-huggage-while-keeping-one-arm-free-in-case-the-hugger-turns-out-to-be-a-vamp-and-I-need-to-make-a-break-for-it kind of deal. Sort of like Early Wesley. Only shorter and rounder, and with more dirty pillowsbosoms.

Which is really, really sad, actually. Damn.

(Loved the Cornershop song. Although I think that the version I knew, which was the one that did really well in the charts, was a remix. Although I didn't think it was by Fatboy Slim. Huh.)

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Naw, the chart hit was the same as the album version. I'm 99% sure.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Dear heavens, Bev, I remember that! And my grin - that is to say, the impulsive need to grin when I saw you guys - was irresistible.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I think the remix was the one I heard first too, the one they probably played on the radio, because when I heard the original, it felt really slow. I know they used the remix in a commercial.

Ooh, hm. It looks like the official name for that remix was the Norman Cook Remix...but Norman Cook is Fatboy Slim, so.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

It's very catchy. I think that P-C and Pete and I are all thinking of the same version, actually.

Check, hugs for P-C, smile and wave for Deb, and MAKING OUT with Aimee. Er.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Laura, backflung.

Deb, thanks for the info, I've bookmarked your post for when I'm a little more sober.

I am sooooo looking forward to this F2F, mainly because it will be my first official one and secondly because I am so ready for a *^%#@$# vacation.

That being said, I've been talking to teh daughter about making a run to Chicago for a viewing of Wicked. If any Chicagoistas are interested, fling something my way. Money would be good, but e-mails are acceptable and will be returned. ;P
