I am also happy to report that we have earned $29 from Cafepress swag, which I will be forwarding to Juliana for the Prom/HS fund as soon as they send me the check. Unfortunately, it may not happen until after the F2F has passed, due to the 45-day lag time (since they allow 30 days to return an item, they won't credit us with the sale until 45 days after shipment, just to be safe).

On the vid front, there are some hinky politics involved in vid distribution -- because copyright enforcement is so much more of a factor, people get careful about their distribution channels. (E.g., passworded sites, strong social pressure.) We might have to be careful/selective about burning vids to CD willynilly, although of course we can show them at the F2F. Hm. I think something can be worked out.

I am mum as the mummest mummy about sources, but I have terrible, horrible, awful, very bad, no-good luck--let's just say I can't catch that scratchy throat for anything. Ahem.

So should shiny hard copies of things miraculously fall from the skies I will make offerings of blank media, postage, chocolate, and coupons to all manner of dens of secret vices for those making such things possible. If I could possibly be more obscure, please tell me how.

Tom, thank you for that link. I just booked my ticket and saved $50 over every other site I'd been searching! I'll be flying out of Milwaukee instead of Madison, but even at $3 a gallon to drive to Milwaukee, I'll be saving $30 overall over the price of the cheapest flights out of Madison.

Now my big question is, who can put me up for Thursday night? And is there any one willing to pick me up in San Jose at 10:55pm?

I have a PayPal question: Does it make any difference what I choose for "category of purchase" when sending money to juliana? I tried "Quasi-Cash" first but got a warning message that I might be charged extra, so I'm leaning towards calling it "Services" -- is there any reason why any of these options is better or worse than another? The other options are "eBay Items", "Auction Goods (non-eBay)", and "Goods (other)".

Also, juliana, is there a chance that you and amyth and smonster would have extra space in your hotel room on Prom night, or are you full up already?

I always use services. No need to bring extra fees/complications into it that I can see.
