So I have come to the F2F thread to organize this Michiganian convergence on Aims, MM, and Emma (hey! if you take the A and e from Aimée and the MM from MM, you can spell Emma! Or emmA.). If we can't all get together at one time, well, they'll be here for two weeks. There's time
It's only a 5 hour-ish drive. If there's a Saturday gathering I can probably head over, crash in a motel and head home Sunday.
Edit: Actually, on further reflection, my mother was pestering me over the holidays about when I was going to visit next. So a better plan would probably be to take Friday off and stay with my folks in GR, then head to a gathering on Saturday (should such a thing come to pass) and then back to GR that night. It's an extra 2 hours in the car over the weekend, but it cuts the individual stretches to 4 and 2 hours each and lets me see my parents as well.
Thank you, JonB. This was one of those times that made me acutely aware of my newness to the board. Now I'm all better!
Adds to wedding checklist.
Ha! Beat you too it, amych. I'm even going to make them dye their hair the exact same color!
I hope your wedding plans are progressing nicely.

Excellent. Make sure it's one that doesn't match any of their skin tones.

They are. At the moment, I am planning on no bridesmaids, but yes pinata. I may soften my stance and put some bridesmaids
in
the pinata, just for yucks.
I'm still marvelling at a relative's wedding that had eight bridesmaids and groomsmen. I half expected to find out that my cousin was marrying into royalty and the wedding photographer was going to be joined by paparazzi.
Well, that's dumb planning on their part now, isn't it?
Our ours, depending on how you look at it. (:

I somehow added the word "night" after the word "wedding" in my head while reading this and went to someplace very different than Matt intended.
At one cousin's wedding there were 6 groomsmen and 6 bridesmaids because the groom couldn't decide between his brothers and best friends and had 6 people. My cousin ended up scrambling around trying to find enough girls to match.
Personally I think the groom should have cut down OR they shouldn't have worried about having the same number, especially since the church they got married in was so tiny they had to cram everyone in at the alter.
I was once at a double wedding where the couples had 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 2 junior bridesmaids, and a flower girl
each.

I think we had seven on each side for my first wedding. It was a lot but those were the people we wanted.
I was one of eight bridesmaids in the last wedding I stood up in. 8 Groomsmen, natch, a flower girl and a ringbearer (okay, word now tainted).
It seemed fine, even though we threatened to outnumber the guests.
