It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

So, wanting to start checking now, so I can plan it: did we want to do a post-B2B BBQ at our place, on the Sunday?

We need to meet a minimum cost of $1500 total food and beverage (the wine list is also in my inbox, but we need to discuss how to do the bar stuff).

I'm thinking a selection that includes something for everyone. At a hundred pieces a tray, there are some good solid options in this list.

Input?

We need to meet a minimum cost of $1500 total food and beverage

Do we have information on how much was spent at previous bars, so we have a ballpark of how much we should spend on food? (For some reason, a $500 bar tab sounds right to me, which would mean $1000 worth of nibbles, or about 8 selections. Unless we can negotiate an open bar, which might make things simpler.)

Some info on the bar would be useful - they're willing to do it either way. I'm pretty sure we're likely to go over $500 on the bar, and I have a full list of what all the possible alcohol costs. Should I post, wine list and all?

Hmm...I think it might be easier if people could post their specific top-shelf brand/specialty requests for hard liquor. Most of us will probably be all right with a standard bar setup.

How big is the wine list?

(I'll start.)

My preferred vodka is Ketel One, and if there could be some Starbucks liqueur on hand for espresso martinis, I'd be much obliged.

Actually, let me post the cash bar option info:

Hosted or Cash Bar

Sodas & Mineral Water $2.50

Domestic Beer $5.00

Imported Beer $5.25

Well Drinks $5.50

House Wine by the Glass $5.50

Premium Drinks $6.00

Cordials or After Dinner Drinks $6.00

Corkage Fee per Bottle $7.00

Bartender Fee of $95.00 per bar for 3-hour shift will apply. Excess of 3 hours or a fraction thereof will be charge $50.00 per hour per bar. If beverage revenue exceeds $400.00, bartender fee will be waived. (my note: I suspect we'll go over $400, don't you?)

Subject to 17.5% Gratuity Tax and 8.50% Sales Tax

And yep, a list of what's wanted in liquor preferences would be a very good thing to pass on to Lilibeth. She's wide open to making this is close to perfect as possible.

Our wings are not tired

In New Orleans we opted for the open bar option since we knew we had to make a similar mark in booze sales anyway.
