Yep. Makes sense to me.
In other news, May just got interesting. World Horror is in San Francisco this year, the week before our own F2F. And I'm a member of Persephone (the women's horror writer association), which means not only a table and signing, but also a party.
Must. gird. loins.
BT, if you come to Cincy, I have to know when! I can drive up to see you.

Well now, if I can swing it, sometime around August 10 is looking like the optimal choice. The problem with that date is it'll see me out east early in August, back to the West Coast to do the West Coast thing, then back to Atlanta for DragonCon, and finally back through the West Coast to go home. But I'm working on it.
I just booked with the hotel for Thursday through Sunday nights, and had no difficulty getting the group rate. Looks like that's all cleared up now.
Expedia.com just lost my business by trying a last-second switcheroo on airline prices though. I don't know if it was a glitch increasing prices at the final confirmation step or a deliberate attempt to squeeze more money, but I'd recommend people try booking through Travelocity or other services instead.
Travelocity's been wonky and slow all day, just FYI.
[eta: Seems to be working now. I've booked tickets for the F2F and my family reunion the weekend after. Thank the gods my mother's paying for the reunion tix, or my credit card would have melted by now.]
I just booked. I couldn't get the group rate for Monday night.
I arrive Thursday, May 18, and I leave Saturday, May 27, from Los Angeles.
Yay!
Do you need a place to stay at all? Does going to the aquarium on Monday seem like something you might want to do?
Rock! We get you in LA for a few days?

The same thing happened to me when I tried to book tickets between London and Edinburgh. I clicked out angrily and went back a couple times, and then it eventually gave me the original price again.
