Google maps link to inman square here.
As Nora says, Inman Square is home to much coolness, but is also very inconveniently placed as far as public transportation is concerned. It's pretty much equidistant from both the Harvard and Central 'T' stops (and Lechmere, when it's open). If they ever extend the green line to Union square, that won't help.
Inman Square is also a hop, skip and a fart from The Thirsty Scholar, home of at least one Buffista pub quiz triumph, and Dali, home of delicious Tapas and flirtatious waitstaff.
Man, all this pub talk is making me crave beer now.
(ETA: NOTE: it does not take much for this to happen, obviously)
And there's Fuller's and Long Trail in the fridge!
Hee!
OK, I'm off. Flight's on time, and I've made lunch to take along. Up up and away!
Breaking in on Boston talk -
We have achieved apartment in North Beach. Repeat, we have achieved apartment.
Deb and Lee, please to be expecting an email soon. Lee, they may need you to come to the office for signage. Deb, my stuff will likely be arriving somewhere in the 28th - 30th timeframe, and the lovely Tom will be there to open the apartment and generally help. I still don't quite know when I'll be arriving, but what the hell. At least my stuff will have a home.
eta: Blast. Just missed Deb.
Inman Square is sort of between Union Square in Somerville, MIT/Kendall area, and Harvard Square. The 1369 is nice. I like the pub next door, the Druid, as well as the S&S deli/resteraunt across the street. Also, yum, East Coast Grill raw bar and champagne, and Bukowski's, and. Sigh. I miss living in Somerville.
Also Magnolia's, and if you walk up the right street a pace, a bunch of Brazillian/Portuguese places and, if you go far enough Oleana and The b-Side Lounge (Tom beat me to the Dali mention, which I think is also near Evoo).
Also, woohoo Juliana!!! Congrats on the digs.
Congratulations on the new apartment Juliana!
