I'm thinking about buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, now I'm REALLY full of bitter angst for not being able to go.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I am all unclear on distances. Is Ohio a zillion miles from Minneapolis? (Asks the woman who has no trouble with the idea of driving to Seattle if necessary)

Scola can go to yours, ND, so long as he comes to ours in Minneapolis.

And maybe picks up Teppy and Nicole en route.

What?

According to Google Maps, ~750 miles, and 12-13 hours driving. (Which, Google Maps informs me, is still less than SF ---> Seattle. Call me a wimp.)

Dang, Tep, that is just a little far! The trip from Madison to Cleveland was just on the edge of my comfort zone as it was and that wasn't quite 500 miles. Are the airfares just too outrageous?

It's a combination of me being broker than broke and also having a sudden influx of freelance work that's all going to come due right around the end of the month. Ironically, said freelance work could have paid for a plane ticket if only it were given to me a month earlier. But as it stands right now, I lack both money AND time. Feh.

Train? Is there a nice affordable train? You could do an Orient Express and drink champagne as the night flashes by outside the train windows.

edit: laptop? You could do it on the train....

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

YAY for the possibility of Scola!

And I'm right behind Deb in the Teppy-urging. C'mon, you know you want to!(All the cool kids are doing it...)
