It's all about choices, Faith. The ones we make, and the ones we don't. Oh, and the consequences. Those are always fun.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I'm on it; one particular option makes sense, and concerned parties have been emailed.

My thinking is, get you hopoked up for overnight accommodations in the East Bay (closer to airport). But when you first fly in, take BART from the airport shuttle to Embarcadero, in San Fran; Kristin knows exactly where we hook up, in front of the Hyatt Regency.

I'll take you on the pretty Tour. And then you and mlle. Em and Kristin could get ride home with East Bay partygoer, and be right there on the correct side of the Bay Sunday.

Working on it. Should know later this evening.

If you leave Deb's before I get there on Saturday night, I will weep loudly and messily.

No ma'am. If I have to put Em to sleep in a dresser drawer, we won't leave. When are you getting there?

I have to work until 5, and will show up as soon as I can after that. Traffic over the Bay Bridge being the big variable.

Reminds me, I need to email sparky directions from Bay Bridge. Luckily they've finally opened the Hayes Street/Fell Street exit from the Bridge, and it dumps you off heading west on Fell Street, which is precisely where you need to be.

Will send.

Proposed menu at moment:

pasta e fagioli, big pot bubbling on the stove
either a vegetarian pasta (cheese, pignole, artichokes, olive oil) or a noodle salad of that variety
big-ass bowl of salad, green
big ass bowl of fruit salad macerated in Baume de Venis, tipsy as hell
chapeau noir (chocolate pastry torte shell filled with bittersweet ganache and garnished with coffee-scented whipped cream)
secondary pastry, not yet decided, but possibly cinnamon cake
liquid nosh (including prosecco and peach nectar, natch)
cheeses, assorted
food for the kids in attendence
anything I forgot?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Approximately what time should we be there, and what can I bring?

Basically, anytime after about 5:00 PM. And a bottle of prosecco, please; peach nectar is being brought, as is cheese, and probably a sixpack or so of beer, for those who like the stuff.
