Reminds me, I need to email sparky directions from Bay Bridge. Luckily they've finally opened the Hayes Street/Fell Street exit from the Bridge, and it dumps you off heading west on Fell Street, which is precisely where you need to be.
Will send.
Proposed menu at moment:
pasta e fagioli, big pot bubbling on the stove
either a vegetarian pasta (cheese, pignole, artichokes, olive oil) or a noodle salad of that variety
big-ass bowl of salad, green
big ass bowl of fruit salad macerated in Baume de Venis, tipsy as hell
chapeau noir (chocolate pastry torte shell filled with bittersweet ganache and garnished with coffee-scented whipped cream)
secondary pastry, not yet decided, but possibly cinnamon cake
liquid nosh (including prosecco and peach nectar, natch)
cheeses, assorted
food for the kids in attendence
anything I forgot?
Approximately what time should we be there, and what can I bring?
Basically, anytime after about 5:00 PM. And a bottle of prosecco, please; peach nectar is being brought, as is cheese, and probably a sixpack or so of beer, for those who like the stuff.
People like beer? I know they drink it, but having never met a beer I liked, I'm still trying to wrap my head around people liking it.
Aims, how cool is that? Have fun this weekend. I can't wait to hear what you think of SF.

That's why I asked someone else to bring some. Only thing I like to drink is very dry bubbly.

I've never met a beer I didn't like.
Well, that's not totally true. I've never met a beer I wouldn't *drink,* if no other were available. I don't like pale ales (I'm not a hophead -- too bitter for me), and I'd rather avoid crap like Natural Light, but when it comes right down to it, if there's nothing else, I'll drink it.
Given my druthers, I like a good brown ale, or a porter, or stout. Mmm. Or a bock, or an amber. Mmmmm....beer.
Tep, I have that berserker supertaster or whatever it is thing going on, so none of it smells right to me.
Not sure why bone dry bubbly makes me happy - but it does, you bet.

I'm a Belgian wheat beer kind of girl. Give me a pale ale, ice cold, and I'll down that sucker pretty quick.
