was Chicago unseasonably hot?
Nope. It was quite nice.
I've only been to SF the time I went for NillyFest. The weather was perfection. I was a pool of sweat after climbing Tank Hill, but that wasn't due to the weather. I was ready to move there. (The fabulous company I was keeping may have influenced my opinion of the city)
Although Graham Nash once claimed there were Giant Mutant Sponges in San Francisco Bay, courtesy of dumping.
And here I would have figured David Crosby to be the one going on about Giant Mutant Anthings.

Which is funny because, if I remember correctly, it was a little warm and muggy for that time of year when we were there for Nillyfest.
My perception of warm and muggy may differ from an LAista.
Nillyfest had some odd weather, for that time of year. It was stone perfect until the morning Nilly took off for Boston, and then we said goodbye to her curbside, in a fog so dense you couldn't see across the street.
We went up to the wine country on the Sunday, four cars or so full of people, and it was glorious.

Actually it was freakin' cold at the airport while we waited to be picked up. Betsy almost died of hypothermia, and I had to loan Amych my leather jacket when we all went out to dinner the first night. It was pleasantly warmer after that, however.
Sounds like I brought the warm weather with me.
First rule of that job: Don't ACTUALLY be a virgin.
Not so difficult to manage in Vegas, or so I'm told.
Interrupting Vegas and microclimate talk for a quick Somervillian F2F announcement:
If anyone coming to Salem this afternoon has extra folding/outdoor chairs (eek, or tables!) and a way to transport them easily, they would be much needed and much appreciated for this afternoon.
Thanks! See you shortly!
wheeee!!!!! Thanks so much.
