Keep in mind the quality of the pools range far and wide. The pool at the Imperial Palace is nothing more than a big cement hole in the ground with no shade except for the building itself. Whereas the pool at Treasure Island is very tropical with cabanas and palm trees, etc.
I would think that if the downtown casinos have pools, they'd either be indoor or on a rooftop.
You can also get a great $1.99 shrimp coctail on Freemont Street.

Pools are nice, but I don't think necessary.

The pool at the Golden Nugget downtown is surprisingly nice. But I'm trying to remember if any of the rest have a pool at all. I know Main Street Station and the Cal don't. But Main Street just redid their rooms. They're pretty nice now.

Not so much with the fewer. Probably with the more irritatingly dingy. You don't get subtle dingy until you go way high end, like The Wynn or its ilk.

Bellagio has best. pools. ever.
If we end up in Vegas, I'm planning on spening as much time as my sun-snarly, genetically inclinded towards cooler weather skin will allow poolside at the Bellagio, drinking mimosas.

The problem with staying at the Bellagio is that I would never go home. They would have to send the pack of big burly guys to physically remove me kicking and screaming. It would not be pretty.
