I would love to see Phoenix.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!
I wouldn't rule out Phoenix. It isn't like LA or NOLA win any prizes for public transportation.
What they said, erika.
erika, it is a nice zoo. Too bad it's not at Christmas when they have the pretty lights up.
Do you know how far Sedona is from Phoenix? I've heard it can be an interesting visit. I can't imagine any public transit reaching that far, but maybe a couple of vans could be rented to stuff people in for those who are willing to brave the daytime heat.

I loved Sedona. I'd estimate it's about a two-hour drive.
Aw man, you're letting the antipodeans answer our geography questions. We are sad.
Yeah, about two hours. Maybe we can arrange something. I'll check if people want.
Is 1 extra week enough for you guys? I'd like to have the vote partially over a weekend.

True. But LA, IIRC, had a lot of locals, with cars. I remember we were the last to arrive, damned near, pulling into the Safari's parking lot with a trunk full of wine and baked goods, after dark on the Friday, having driven down from SF.
Everyone was going out to dinner, and there were enough cars to take everyone clear across town, to the sushi restaurant.
Pheonix or SF I'd almost definitely drive to. This may well be the same for other LAistas. If that's the case then we'd end up with cars. We also had a few folks who rented cars in LA. DX had a van and Jon B had a Jeep Liberty, there may have been others.
