And now my boy's in love. All hearts and flowers. But, doesn't it freak you out that she used to change your diapers? I mean, when you think about it, the first woman you boned is the closest thing you've ever had to a mother. Doing your mom and trying to kill your dad. Hm. There should be a play.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

A quick update from SF Pimpage!Land:

1. The annoying catering person at the Miyako is supposedly having a look at the IFB, to see if we can get around the sticking point of outside food in the hospitality suite. I'm standing firm on the principle: one of the big attractions of visiting SF is that it's a foodie's paradise, and besides, if you can't eat your Krispy Kremes in the soi disant "hospitality" suite, then it aint hospitable. We shall see.

2. The nice events coordinator at the Ramada Plaza is currently looking over the IFB. I should be sitting down with her sometime early next week.

3. About to call the two local Holiday Inns (the Golden Gateway on Van Ness, and the one at Fisherman's Wharf).

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Shiny, Deb.

How's the other cities looking on the pimpage-readiness?

The Empress is doing Vegas right? I suspect we'll not be hearing from her for a few more days.

Oh my, the opportunities for SPP with these two statements...

Woe to the fucking wicked.

No problem. Just thinking about voting timeline, now that I've moved.

Bwah! Well, she DID just have a baby -- I'm sure she could stand to sow a few oats in sin city. Well, ANOTHER sin city.

And Michael - nice gent who handles the bookings for all four San Francisco Holiday Inns, including the one at the Wharf, which would make those who love cracked crab very happy - has the IFB, and will be calling me back within the hour.

Kewl.

Another update.

Just got off the phone with Laura, at the Holiday Inn Civic Center, and this is looking really good.

$99 a night so long as ten rooms are booked; rooms that happily sleep four people are only $119 a night. They have ADA-compliant rooms, of course.

Hospitality: They have a two-bedroom suite with full living room and full audio visual that would make a nice hospitality suite, and they'd take bedroom furniture out, to give us more room; full kitchen in there, I believe, and our own food not a problem.

Prom: Now comes the party. They have a grand ballroom, just about 3,000 square feet. If we use their catering for hors d'ouvres, the ballroom is comped, and would we like to have a cocktail bar set up at the pool entertaining area, on the fourth floor? Laura's been told I'm a cook and a retired caterer, so I'm going to be fussy about the catering and what we get for how much.

She's sending me the full proposal tomorrow morning, and we're getting together next week to look at the space.

Onward. Upward.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Deb, close your eyes, k?

Votex and I stalked the wild fried curd and cornered it at the State Street Brat House. We subdued the wild curd with mustard and marinara sauce and thousand island dressing. Beer was had.

After the curd was slain, there was mucho shopping. A pink bag was found and after much hemming, hawing, cavilling and questioning, we both skinned one and carried it triumphantly home. Or, in my case, tried to, but like a doofus, left my shopping bag at the restaurant we ate at.

Speaking of, we did ourselves proud at one of the sushi bars in town. There was hibachi scallops, seafood tempura, sake, more beer, spicy tuna roll, steamed spinach with sesame sauce, uni sushi (sea urchin) and only Vortex knows what else.

Feeling the need for beer and music, we wended our way down to the Memorial Union on campus where we succumbed to the lure of the Rathskeller Ale (pictures!) and split a pitcher while listening to a very decent cover band on the terrace by Lake Mendota where we watched the sail boats coming in at sunset. After much gaiety and laughter it was determined that some of us (moi) had to work tomorrow. The night was called ("Oh, Night! Here, Nightie-nightie.") and my chariot wafted us back to Vortex's hotel and eventually me to home.

Damn it. More of you folks have got to come and visit.

Debet, I've got a full bid proposal, with PFS and everything else, from the Holiday Inn Civic Center. How, and when, do you want me to post this? Or do I send it to you first? Or, what?
