I saw the post in Press and assumed that the voting would be open for several days since it's the Buffista standard for voting to run for three days.
F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!
Likewise - I happened to vote quickly as soon as I saw the poll notice, but my assumption was that it would be open for several days to get the widest possible spread of opinions. I've no objection to it being reopened or some other measure taken so that those who missed it get to have their say.
Ok, then. I will keep the poll open through Saturday. Pay no attention to the previously-posted results.
For Labor Day I'm going up to see Ginger and we're going to DragonCon. I'm sure there are other Buffistas who are going and I thought we could do some kind of F2F thing.
Oh, I'd love to get back to Atlanta. Must ponder.
Labor Day weekend I will be in Chicago attending Bouchercon. (named after Anthony Boucher, not Joe) I'll actually be there from Wed. night to Monday, while G will get there Friday night.
Chicagoistas, what say you?
Hmmm, yeah, of the three I'd have to say the 20th looks good since the first weekend runs up against Cinco De Mayo, which can cause quite a few places to be booked in California, the second weekend is Mother's Day weekend.
Heh. Whereas I actually prefer the 13th; I don't do holidays, and the ones I do do, I'm willing to postpone or do earlier. Hell, I actually prefer doing shit like mother's day on a different weekend, when everyone isn't queueing up for eggs benedict because of the date...
I'm with you, Deb, but I'm guessing it would mean a lot of people couldn't make it.
Mother's Day means I get to do what I please, so Buffista F2F works fine. Cinco de Mayo is rather fun in these parts, so home is a good option. I'm still going to pass on voting on the date though because I have flexibility in schedule that others may not.
