We could go on the Haunted Mansion and the PotC rides over and over and over and ...

We went to the 50 Years of Disneyland concert at the Hollywood bowl last night and they played the music from Haunted mansion and had ghosty people out and they also played the PotC music and had pirates! When they came out I yelled, "YAY PIRATES!" Joe thought I yelled, "GAY PIRATES!"

Admission is around $50 per day now.

Okay, I admit. I can't think of anyone, including Pete, who would be willing to go on the Haunted Mansion as many times as I would want to.

My husband would. As long as there were occasional breaks to go on PotC. There is nothing else in his Disneyland, and yet he can spend a full day there.

All of the amusement parks are out of control. Hersheypark, King's Dominion and Six Flags America are now $40/day. And you have to pay for parking. Fun isn't cheap anymore.

Oh, I talked to the group reservations manager at Comfort Suites today. She couldn't give me an absolute price, since it depends on knowing the date, but if we went with the weekend before Memorial Day again, it would be $105/night + tax. It sounds like they'd have everything we need. They'd offer us a meeting room suitable for hospitality suite and prom. For any night we had 20 or more rooms booked, it'd be comped; otherwise it's $150/day. And I really like this part--rather than asking us to guarantee a certain number of rooms, they just let you reserve at the group rate on a first come, first served basis.

I left a voicemail for the event coordinator at University Inn, but haven't heard back yet.

Fun isn't cheap anymore.

But if you're a resident, it's cheaper, isn't it? My mate used to live in Florida, and he had a year-long pass to Disneyworld for some not-insane amount of money. That was only 2 or 3 years ago.

eta So, let me torture myself again with the whole deluding-myself-I-could-go-to-the-F2F. Are we talking California again?

I don't know, Fay. Amusement parks aren't my thing. I can't remember the last time I patronised one, and on the rare occasions when I do, I inevitably end up being the Incredible! Human! Coatrack! while everyone else purposely makes themselves nauseous. It boggles the mind.

Most do have season passes, and some are better deals than others.

edit: Disneyland = CA. The ones I mentioned are in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland, respectively. Susan's working Seattle.

Gah, that's just nuts. I've only been to King's Dominion when it's free (company picnic there in July), and it sucks. Hard. I can't see paying for it, let alone paying $40.00.

Although usually someone dies there every year, so maybe it's a gene pool filter.

It's the West's turn again, Fay. So far it sounds like Seattle, San Francisco, and Vegas are the main possibilities.

I'm doing the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway tomorrow, and the Miyako on Thursday.

It will, in fact, be more of an exact science with narrowed down dates.

Susan, one thing I do remember about the Comfort Inn, and it may not be an issue: there were parking issues. The night we got home late, the garage was actually full, and we actually had to park out on the street. But they had some repair trucks taking up garage space while we were there, and that might not be the case now.
