Yowtch! If the fares I just got for San Francisco and Seattle with July dates are standard, I'll either be driving through the Rockies or not attending at all. Those are like 3x the prices I've ever paid to LA.
F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!
Fly to LA and drive up with the LAista RV!
Just for a rough idea, May 19-22, hotel and flight, sorted by 'lowest' on Orbitz:
Cincinnati - San Francisco 461
Cincinnati - Phoenix 387
Cincinnati - Seattle 388
Dallas - San Francisco 438
Dallas - Phoenix 413
Dallas - Seattle 373
These all tend to be 'outlying' locations, naturally.
As far as something more central... well, that was this year's goal and the vote went to New Orleans. It's too late for "I told you so"s. And now its the West Coast's turn.
Whereas NOLA was less expensive for me than the trips I've taken to Oakland or Burbank.
I repeat, weird!
Not disagreeing.
I also think it has a lot to do with when you buy ticket, too. There is no rhyme or reason.
I think June would be more convenient for me than April or May.
All of the possible host cities have advantages for me.

Interesting. My comment wasn't an "I told you so"; it was just my opinion. It's not written in stone that the location of the F2F has to change every year. Moving locales was a thoughtful idea, so that the travel/financial burden could theoretically be equally distributed.
That said, my opinion, which I offered up since the discussion about the 2006 F2F has started, is that it might be a better idea to keep it central.
And now its the West Coast's turn.
Yeah, I get that. Like I said in my previous post.
Just a quick search for Phoenix:
Newark - Phoenix $364
DCArea - Phoenix $238-$328
Does Vegas count as West Coast? There are almost always chep flights there from everywhere!
Vegas = Pacific Time, I thnk that counts as West Coast.
No localistas, though.
LA-istas kinda count as local.
I love Vegas.
