I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'll be there, but staying with my parents.

ION, I'm just back from a delightful, if brief, weekend with Buffistas in Cleveland. I got there yesterday just in time to go out with the gang for dinner, followed by lots of conversation, a preview bit of Deb's next book, and way too much ice cream. Fun!

Deena's Nick is just fucking adorable, btw, as were the babies. But watching Nick and Deb geek out over guitars was one of the highlights of the weekend.

Also glad to report that I made it home without any unfortunate encounters with state troopers, despite my lead foot and the cop magnet Hertz saddled me with. (New red Mustang.)

Convertible? They might as well add an afterburner like on the Batmobile.

It's like you're flipping off a cop just by starting the damn engine.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I had a ball in Cleveland. I corrupted Kara by teaching her how to click glasses and announce "Sante!" at the top of her lungs. I didn't get a chance to really skritch Brenda's dog, who was beautiful. Deena's Nick may follow me home anytime at all - totaly cutehead. He'd get on well with my own Nic. And I long ago accepted my house will always have one person named Nicholas in it.

Teppy is a fabulous roomie. She listened to me midlife about old scars at one in the morning, and never complained once. And she found me something I desperately needed to find, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Memo to self: blue shiny pajamas for Kara in Chinatown.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I will be there, possibly with friend Linz. I may see if she'll book a room also.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm so glad you all had such a good time in Ohio. I wish I could have been there. The internet connection I am stealing from my neighbor is too slow and unreliable to look at pictures, but I can't wait to do so tomorrow night.
