We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Sorry, hon, I'm really booked up the week before between work and having plans to go see thessaly compete in the Independent World Poetry Slam: [link] , and Dave and I have actual birthday plans on the 12th before he leaves.

When are you leaving on the 13th? I don't know why I am asking since I'm not planning to come in until the next day, but...chalk it up to being bummed at missing you.

Heh. I have a plane ticket for like, 2pm, I think? Maybe 3pm. I'd have to check. Not very late, I wanted to get home. But depending on how the week goes, I might not stay the weekend, and take the chinatown bus home instead--I'm not feeling much up for EXTRA time away from home, lately!

I'm VERY excited ... Vortex, could I join your group for dinner Friday?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Speaking of Friday, I'll probably be going to catch a show at O'Flaherty's Irish Pub. Anyone who wants to come is welcome; there's a bar where people sit and drink and listen to music and talk, a room where people sit and drink and don't talk and listen to music, a courtyard, etc.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Now Toddson can take my place. (This is where I'd put a sad face if I used emoticons.) Unfortunatly (for me, great for her) it is looking more and more possible that my roomie is moving to London in the fall- there's a great chance that I've got a new one lined up for September, but she just told me that she'd be moving out of here at the end of the school year, which means I'd be living the summer alone. I can swing it, but barely, and Practical!Lilty has informed me that I'd have to be mad to spend this kind of money right now.

So, alas, no F2F for me this year. Next year.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Lilty, I'll sit in the sad corner with you. I just did my taxes the other night, and not only am I not getting the refund I had expected, but--for the first time--I owe money. Kind of a lot. I'm not totally fucked, since I've been saving up money for travelling, so at least I can pay, but it means I don't have any fun money anymore.

Maybe we can have our own little mini-F2F the same weekend? You can drive down to Northampton, we'll wander the streets in our corsets and boots, we'll eat at the fabulous Tibetan restaurant, and then we'll go back to my place and watch DVDs. Whaddya say?

Kate! That would be spectacular, as long as I've got the time off that weekend. Since I still have my bucket of change that was specifically earmarked with no exceptions to put me on a plane, I've downsized vacations to one with a dirt cheap flight that will be otherwise free, due to extreme couch sleeping and pantry rummaging. (And I get to see U2!)
