Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I loved having Sunday night at the last F2F, but I won't be able to swing it this time, since I'm taking all my vacation time a month later to go to Berlin. So I'll only be there Friday night through Sunday afternoon, most likely.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Erin, SA, if you ride down with me, how long were both of you planning to stay? My plan was definitely Friday - Sunday nights, but tacking on an extra night wouldn't be a problem if you both wanted to.

Whenever. As of now I don't have any need to get back on a certain date. I'll probably be driving down to Franklin Co after I leave Memphis, anyway.

Kate, I was in Berlin a couple weeks ago. A month ago. Whatever. Have you been there before? I thought it was pretty damn cool.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Ok, I just looked at the hotel website, and I want to make this real now. If I call and reserve a room, is there a penalty if I have to cancel the reservation? (In the event I had to, I'd be giving plenty of notice.)

ETA: Never mind- I just read further in Kristin's very helpful hotel post, and I'm good now.

SA, no, I've never been to Berlin before. I've got a good friend who lives there, who's going to put me up and show me around. I'm WAY excited!! Though plane fare to Germany in June (or more broadly, to Europe in the summer) is ridiculous. oy. So you liked it? Do you have any tips or favorite places?

Gulp.

Reservation made. Damn me and my impulsive ways.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Damn me and my impulsive ways.

You misspelled "bless".

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Woo-hoo!

I couldn't help myself! I was looking at pretty pictures, then out the window at the snow and the cold, and I just thought why not do something crazy for once?

Now that that is settled, what on Earth shall I WEAR?

Yeah, I liked it a lot. The train system was brilliant--while you can get a pass for however long you're there, you can ride the trains on the honour system. Not that, uh, I did that. *cough* I'm sure Berlin in June will be a lot nicer than it is in January, but I quite liked Potzdammer Platz, which is a great shopping district and fun to poke around and people watch. It also has one of the two english-language cinemas if you ever want to go see a movie.

There's a bunch of museums--if you have a student card it would be really useful, because I don't recall any of them being free. Most of them are located near Alexanderplatz, where the Cathedral is. The Kulturforum would be worth banking a day, or at least a few hours, for. Also, make an appointment to go into the Reichstag, the Parliament building, because you can get some kickass views from the nifty dome. There's a Lush there, too, at Friedrichstrasse, the main street in the city.
