If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I have a Tivo question. About a week ago, our Tivo remote became unresponsive. I could turn the TV on and off with it, but I couldn't control any of the Tivo functionality (navigating menus, etc). We replaced the batteries in the remote, but the only thing that actually worked was to restart the whole system. It's only happened twice, but it's still a bit worrying.

Have other Tivoites experienced this? Can we solve the problem by ordering a new remote, or is the issue with the box? It's a 4-5 year old Series 2, and if it dies there's no way we can afford to replace it...

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

This one can do all sorts of conversions between all the popular formats, can split and join mp3s and wavs, and can also convert MIDI directly to mp3 (if one should ever want to do that). Also, it's not really intended to be a player AFAIKT.

The splitting and joining is done via different software by the same company, no?

Ann, that's a ferret.

Jessica, you've already tried everything I know how to do (change batteries and restart the system). So, no idea.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The splitting and joining is done via different software by the same company, no?

Oh yeah - I just did a quick skim of the page and missed that. I apologize if I confused anyone....

eta: I just downloaded and installed it. It's Windows only. Note that not only must you download it today to get it free - you must also install it today.

eta²: This is current as of a few minutes ago:

If you like the software and our service, please tell your friends and colleagues about us, we would be glad to provide them with giveaways as well. Please note that they have only 4 hours 21 minutes to download and install their copy of Direct Audio Converter and CD Ripper, so we recommend you to inform them while the software is still available!

This happened to be today. I was pissed. I had to unplug the Tivo to get it to stop hanging.

I have a feeling Tivo's latest software upgrade has some bugs.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Doesn't have his game face on. The more to lure the unsuspecting.

That's actually kind of a relief, LeN, because if it's a software bug it means my Tivo box isn't dying! Very annoying, though -- I hope they can patch it soon.
