I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have a Tivo question. About a week ago, our Tivo remote became unresponsive. I could turn the TV on and off with it, but I couldn't control any of the Tivo functionality (navigating menus, etc). We replaced the batteries in the remote, but the only thing that actually worked was to restart the whole system. It's only happened twice, but it's still a bit worrying.

This happened to be today. I was pissed. I had to unplug the Tivo to get it to stop hanging.

I have a feeling Tivo's latest software upgrade has some bugs.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Doesn't have his game face on. The more to lure the unsuspecting.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

That's actually kind of a relief, LeN, because if it's a software bug it means my Tivo box isn't dying! Very annoying, though -- I hope they can patch it soon.

WRT my work firefox browser issue...I had to remove all but my 3 or 4 favorite extensions and the google search problem was solved. I have a feeling it is an Adblock issue, but I'm not altogether sure.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Le N, there's a FF upgrade out as of yesterday - I did that and removed one extension (Add to Google Calendar), and it's fixed, although I can't tell you for sure which one did the trick. You might want to upgrade Firefox and then try adding the extensions back one at a time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, I'm asking here because I'm too lazy to look it up - are most extensions now updated for Firefox 2.0?

Depends on the extensions you use? Mine are, although I don't use nearly as many as a lot of people seem to.

Bah. That answer required me to check for each extension, instead of letting me blindly go ahead and update to 2.0.

Come to think of it, Google Browser Sync is the one extension I can't live without. I suppose I could check on that one before doing an upgrade....

Ooh. This feature of Firefox 2.0 looks like it could aid many Buffistas:

As a blogger and web mail user, it breaks my heart to recount how many times I've composed a long post or email message, then accidentally closed the tab or browser and lost all my work. No more! With Firefox 2, set the browser.startup.page key to 3 to restore your browsing session - with form entries intact! - every time you start your browser or undo close tab after a wayward click. Note: By default, Firefox 2 automatically restores your session if your browser crashes - but this does it every time you restart your browser normally. Thanks for the tip, Arun!

No more lost posts!
