Some states used to have three-letter codes, like 'FLA' for Florida.

In recent years I remember noticing old ads for companies that had an address but no zip code - I think the latest I've seen this is '72?
I have memories of growing up in the early 70's and seeing ads on TV from the USPS strongly encouraging the use of zip codes.

All, whenever I search google from my office computer I get an "unresponsive script" warning during results of the search. Any way I can fix this problem? I'm using Firefox 2

I've seen that warning in Firefox when client-side Javascript is bogging down on a slow computer. I checked - Google does use client side scripting. Weird.
Is it a slow computer, and/or one with limited memory?
Dunno what can be done....

the restart did not work. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I use google so often that this error is actually disabling my ability to surf. No problems on my home computer at all. I guess I may need to disable all extensions when I go back to work and start over.

le nubian, I was having a lot of trouble with firefox freezing, most especially with Google. I did some checking and it is a known bug that is caused by some add-ons. I deleted most of my add-ons and am having much less trouble.

There's an about:config tweak for the "Unresponsive script" thing. [link]
Basically the default value for how long Firefox will wait around for a script to finish just times out too quickly. I run into it a lot during threadsucks.
